Anglo-Saxons Attack!

WOW! What a day! This term, Year 4 will be looking at the Anglo-Saxons. Who were they? How did they change Britain? What was life like for an Anglo-Saxon? How did the Anglo-Saxons invade Britain? Today, the children were introduced to where the Anglo-Saxons came from. They learnt that they originated from Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands. The children then used their new knowledge to create passports for Anglo-Saxons.

In the next session, the children started to look at the Anglo-Saxon kings through a reading competition. They read an informative piece of text and had to answer a range of retrieval and inference questions.

During the afternoon, the children looked at different Anglo-Saxon jewellery and created their own colourful designs in their sketch books.
