Klee and the Castle - Year 3B's WOW Day for term 2

This term Year 3 are focussing on the topic of castles. They will be looking at wonderfully enchanting fairy-tales in their writing and learning about the geographic importance when building castles in our Topic work. On our WOW day at the start of term, we measured the length of towers for a King who wanted us to build very specific castles. During our English lesson, we predicted the remainder of a story opener and acted out our very own castle stories - taking on the role of a king, queen, child or dragon! We also looked at the artwork of Paul Klee, a German artist, who has a highly individual style based on shapes and balance. We used this in our own drawing of castle pictures and used coloured chalk to make them exciting and vibrant.
