Make do and Mend in our Art Week!

Year 6 create new toys using recycled materials

As part of our World War II topic, and following the recycling theme of this year's Art Week, children in Year 6 investigated the types of toys children in wartime 1940s would have had, with particular reference to the scarcity of materials.

With an understanding that plastic would not have been widely used for toys in the 1940s, the children designed and made toys from a wide variety of household recycling items.
