Never Eat Slimy Worms!

This term, Year 5 are having a focus on improving our geographical skills. On Thursday 8th November, we began looking at compass directions in Topic. Firstly, we all managed to use our compasses to find North in the classroom, and then looked at different mnemonics to help us remember the order of the compass points. Then we worked in pairs and drew different trails using our eight compass points, and our partner had to try and follow them.

Billie-Joe - 'I remember them by saying Never Eat Shredded Wheat.'

Oskar - I used the compass to help me go in the right direction. It was hard to remember the extra directions. They were north-east, south-east, south-west and north-west.'

Natalija - 'I found it challenging to follow Hannah's directions, but I managed to do it correctly.'
