Progress

Progress measures look at the pupil's journey through Key Stage 2 from their Key Stage 1 SATS results. An average child should achieve a '0' on their progress measure, with more able children scoring above 0 and those struggling tp meet expected progress below 0. Each child's scores are averaged out to make an overall progress score for the College.

Our Year 6 pupils have made significant progress this year, when compared to the National Floor Targets for progress, which have remained the same for the last 2 years.

  • 75% of pupils taking the 2017 Key Stage 2 SATS were classified as "disadvantaged" by the Department for Education.

  • The Government has introduced a "Progress measure" in recognition of those pupils who enter education with significantly lower academic starting points. As can be seen in the table above, our pupils made progress in line with expectations in Reading, Writing and Maths, according to Government statistics.

  • The Year 6 cohort consisted of 24 pupils in total: although a significant number of children in the cohort were working below Year group expectations at the beginning of the year, all pupils took part in testing and demonstrated good to outstanding progress, illustrated by the green arrows on the scales to the right.

  • Our Key Stage 2 data is showing an upward 3-year trend overall and Key Stage 1 data, along with Early Years Development is showing strong performance in attainment and progress.
